What was once a strictly American holiday has now made its way around the world. Black Friday has become the most popular shopping holiday of the year, with many customers rushing into stores (and some even fighting their way in!) to grab themselves a bargain just in time for Christmas. Set on the day following thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in November), many brands take advantage of this day of hype and deals to promote their own products.

If you’re thinking of creating a campaign for Black Friday this year, take a look at these 5 tips on how you can take utilise this shopping frenzy for yourself:

#1 Offer Free Shipping

Free shipping is a classic online offer. If you’re clever with free shipping you can attract people to spend more on your website. Amazon’s £20 minimum spend (£10 for books) is a great example, forcing you to spend more in order to get that Free super saver shipping.

If you already offer free shipping this may not apply to you, but if you don’t, you can use black Friday to spread the message that you’re offering it for just 1 day only.

#2 Bundle Deals

‘On Black Friday Buy 2 <product> Get A <second product> Absolutely Free. Available For 1 Day Only’ – While you may want to change this wording to suit your offer, this is a great way to entice people to opt-in for more of your product than they would have bought in the first place. People are hyped up hunting for offers, and bundle deals such as this will appear extra tempting on black Friday.

#3 Push Remarketing

Shoppers will no doubt be looking around at the deals available across the web for a product they’re after. Once someone has visited your website, add them to your remarketing list and make sure they see you on other websites when they’re browsing the web. They may just think “Oh yeah. I should go back and buy that.” leading to a conversion.

#4 Follow That Hashtag!

As you could have guessed, #blackfriday is THE hashtag to jump aboard. When promoting your offers on Twitter, make 200% sure to include it in your copy. People will be following this hashtag to find offers that interest them, and you want yours to pop up where it can.

#5 Build Up The Hype

If your customers don’t know that you’re offering deals on black Friday they won’t know to come to your website. Countdown to your black Friday deals on all social channels, send an email out notifying your subscribers that you are taking part and will have amazing offers for them to choose from and create PPC adverts that promote your offers. Create a separate section on your website for black Friday offers and send as many people there are possible so that they can grab themselves a bargain.
